Realme has been pretty busy this year especially when it comes to software updates including the Realme UI 1.0 and Realme UI 2.0 skins.
The Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) update is a major leap in terms of user experience and it seems the OEM plans on extending some of its features to the Realme UI 1.0 powered devices.
In a recently held weekly Q&A, the OEM addressed some queries regarding Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) features that are going to arrive on devices running Realme UI 1.0 officially.
Features like minimized notification banners for incoming calls and Icon pull down gestures will arrive on Realme UI 1.0 devices.
However, the System cloner feature of Realme UI 2.0 will not be made available to devices powered by Realme UI 1.0 as it only comes with Realme UI 2.0.
Q. Will devices running realme UI 1.0 receive the new System cloner feature?
A. No, this feature comes with realme UI 2.0 only and will not be made available for realme UI 1.0.
Q. Does realme UI 2.0 provide minimized banners at the top of the screen for incoming calls – instead of those filling the whole screen?
A. Yes, and this applies to both realme’s and Google’s phone apps.
Q. Some devices have a new “Icon pull-down gesture” feature. Will it come to realme 3 Pro too?
A. Yes, our new Icon pull-down feature will come to all devices updated to realme UI 1.0.
Also, users asked whether it is possible to change app icons individually to which the OEM stated that such support is not available, however, third-party icon packs are now supported on the latest custom skin.
All devices that will receive the Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) update will also get eight new animations for fingerprint unlock.
Moreover, Realme UI 2.0 System cloner will allow users to clone apps from one system partition to another along with support for importing or exporting app data.
Q. Does realme UI 2.0 support to change the icons of individual apps?
A. No, you can pick from some preset styles, make your own, or apply an icon pack – but the selected style or icon pack will apply to all icons at once.
Q. Does realme UI 2.0 allow to change the fingerprint unlock animation?
A. Yes, all devices receiving realme UI 2.0 will have 8 new fingerprint unlock animations to choose from.
Q. Does System Cloner in realme UI 2.0 allow to have different accounts for different apps depending on the system partition?
A. Yes, and you can also clone apps from one system partition to another – or simply import or export their data.
Apart from that, the OEM stated that all Realme UI 2.0 eligible devices like Realme X3 will get the latest custom skin in the form of Open Beta or Early Access.
It must be noted that Realme has already shared the detailed roadmap of the Realme UI 2.0 update early access rollout. More on that here.
Nevertheless, Realme X3 users will have to wait for some time as the Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) update early access rollout for the device in question is scheduled to begin in January 2021.
A. Yes, we will have beta activities (in the form of Early Access or Open Beta) for ALL realme devices eligible to update to realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.
While not many Realme UI 2.0 features will come to Realme UI 1.0 devices, many devices will get the Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) update.
Moreover, Realme has been doing a pretty solid job with software updates and Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) is the prefect example. That said, we will provide updates when more information becomes available.
