Original story (published on September 23, 2020) follows:

Asus ZenFone 6, also known as Asus 6z, came out in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and its users are now waiting for the Android 11 update.

There has been no major announcements about the ZenFone 6 Android 11 update since the beta update recruitment started and that has kept enthusiasts anxious for their beloved device.

Asus started the Android 11 beta update recruitment for the ZenFone 6 back in August but the first beta update came out pretty recently as version 18.0610.2009.37.

Now, it seems that users of the ZenFone 6 might soon receive the Android 11 stable update as per recent development.

A ZenTalk admin has stated that the latest OS update is being tested internally and is expected to roll out in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Hello,

ZenFone 6 is currently undergoing a closed beta of Android 11 and is expected to be officially pushed to users in the fourth quarter.

It was reported earlier that the Android 11 beta update will not affect VoLTE support on the ZenFone 6 and some ZenFone 7 features will also be included in the update.

Reports also suggested that the latest OS update for the Asus 6z will not include force HDR+ and bouncy UI effects in the Camera app and system UI respectively.

Nevertheless, this new information about Asus ZenFone 6 indeed comes as good news for those who had been waiting for some word on the latest OS update.

It must be noted that the Android 11 update is also being planned for the recently released Asus ZenFone 7.

While no details have been provided yet, the OEM is expected to make an announcement on the ZenFone 7 Android 11 update as soon as possible.

Apart from that, Android 11 and ZenUI 7 are also being evaluated for Asus ZenFone 5Z which is two year old device and has already received two major OS updates.

This clearly indicates that the OEM is working tirelessly to provide the latest OS update to as many devices as possible.

Hopefully, more OEMs follow into the footsteps of the likes of Asus and strive to deliver the latest OS updates to their older devices.

That said, we will keep tracking the development of Asus ZenFone 6 and will provide updates once more information becomes available.

In the meantime, you can go through the list of devices from Asus that we think will get the Android 11 update.

Furthermore, we have a dedicated Asus Android 11 update tracker so be sure to check it out to stay updated on the topic.

We also have a consolidated Android 11 update tracker for all major OEMs and carriers so you can have a look at that in case you own a different device.
