Android 11 is already out for several devices in stable and beta versions while OEMs are striving to deliver the latest OS update to other eligible devices. However, independent developers and modders are also working on Android 11 custom ROMs. Among them, the YAAP custom ROM.

YAAP or Yet Another AOSP Project offers the vanilla Android experience i.e. a clean interface with minimal customization options. Now, a senior XDA Developers member, poad42, has developed the Android 11-based YAAP custom ROM for the OnePlus 5 and 5T.

OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are not eligible to get the Android 11 update officially as software support has ended for both devices. Nevertheless, custom ROMs like YAAP will always be around to provide the latest Android OS support to such devices.

It must be noted that OnePlus is known for providing three major OS updates to its devices. The OnePlus 5 and 5T have already received three Android OS updates which is why Android 11 is not on the cards for these devices.

Another thing to note is that the Android 11-based YAAP custom ROM is still in early stages of developments. This means that there are still some issues that will be fixed in future builds but that should not stop Android enthusiasts from trying it out on their OnePlus 5 and 5T.
