This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on September 14) follows:
It is usually expected that devices that are meant for heavy gaming will offer flawless and smooth user experience. However, this is not always true and one such example is Asus ROG Phone 2 which was released back in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and the Snapdragon 855+ SoC.
Now, users have been experiencing a peculiar issue related to the ROG Phone 2 PUBG 90fps support. Multiple reports have been swarming the ZenTalk community and other online platforms lately where users are demanding the frame rate setting for the ROG Phone 2.
While the moderator has specified that it is not up to the ROG Phone 2 developers to add the 90fps support for PUBG Mobile. This is simply due to the fact that PUBG Corporation which is the developer of the game will have to enable the support for Asus ROG Phone 2.
Also, users are curious about the ROG Phone II 90fps support as some ROG Phone 3 users have reported that the option is available for them. For this, the moderator has stated that even they are not sure how certain ROG Phone 3 users have the 90fps support.
Moreover, the moderator has mentioned that they are already looking into the issue. However, a workaround is available to manually enable the 90fps setting by editing the Active.sav file which might be the reason why certain ROG Phone 3 users have the setting but this is not yet confirmed.
It must be noted that the PUBG Mobile 90fps support was added for OnePlus devices in August and all supported devices were slated to get the same by September-end. However, no official announcements have been made by the game developer yet.
Asus ROG Phone 3 users have also been affected by the black crush and slow charging issues. While the former is still persistent, a new issue related to the ROG Phone 3 not getting charged at all has now surfaced.
For these issues, the moderator has stated that an upcoming FOTA update will include the relevant bug-fixes. Also, it is clearly mentioned that the FOTA might be rolling out by September-end.
This will be adressed in an upcoming FOTA that should drop later this month. Please PM me if you still experience this issue after updating to the new firmware.
