Native video calling support in Asus ZenFone Max M2 Android 10 update: Don't get your hopes high

The Asus ZenFone Max M2 is set to receive the update to Android 10, well, at least at some point in the foreseeable future. We’ve been tracking the status of the update and here’s all you need to know about it.

It’s expected that Android 10 will bring forward a few new features and improvements to the device. Therefore, many users have been waiting a long time for Asus to start seeding the update.

Of course, many users have also been suggesting a couple of features that Asus should include with the update to Android 10 for the ZenFone Max M2. One such feature is the option to have native video calling support on the device.

Matter of fact, we previously also reported about ZenFone Max Pro M1 and ZenFone Max Pro M2 users asking about support for native video calling in Android 10. Unfortunately, in both cases, the answers from moderators were disappointing.

This is because they practically confirmed that the devices will not get native video recording support. And sadly it appears that ZenFone Max M2 users aren’t any luckier in this case too.

When asked about native video calling support for the ZenFone Max M2, an Asus moderator neither confirmed nor denied that native video calling support will be added to the ZenFone Max M2. We’ve added the entire comment from the mod below:

Hi there, we understand the importance of the feature you have inquired about. It would be highly appreciated if you could cooperate with us until there is an announcement on our official channels for the same.

More often than not, such uncertainties from Asus mods usually bear bad news thus native video calling might never come to the Max M2 — or even the Max M1 for that matter — you know, just like their Pro counterparts.

Therefore, we’d suggest preparing for the worst outcome in this case. But, of course, we will keep track of the situation and will post an update if any new details emerge. Meanwhile, stay tuned to our dedicated tracker to know when the Android 10 update rolls out to any pending devices from Asus.
