Oppo was one of the first few Android OEMs to release the Android 11 beta update after Google rolled out the update for its Pixel line up. The company released the beta version for its flagships — the Find X2 Pro and Find X2 in China.

Since then, Oppo also kicked started the recruitment for beta testers to test Android 11 on the Ace2 in China. Furthremore, the company also recently confirmed that it will release the beta for the Global variants of the Find X2.

And well, it appears Oppo has planned to kick-start the beta recruitment for the Find X2, Find X2 Pro, as well as the Reno3 and Reno3 Pro. In an official announcement, the company has alerted interested users to get ready to sign up for the beta.

The beta recruitment process is scheduled to begin on September 7 at 4:00 (GMT). Therefore, any individuals with the aforementioned devices can register to get a chance to experience Android 11 before others.

At present, it’s not known whether the Android 11 beta for these devices will come alongside ColorOS 8.0 or ColorOS 7.2 like with the previous beta versions rolled out in China. It’s possible that Oppo may announce ColorOS 8.0 with the stable release.

Nevertheless, only a limited number of users will be selected for the beta. Unfortunately, all other details will be shared on September 7 itself including the available regions and the quota.

Therefore, in a matter of a few days, we’ll get to know Oppo’s plans for the release of the Android 11 beta for the Find X2, X2 Pro, Reno3, and Reno3 Pro. So keep an eye out on our dedicated tracker to know more about the Android 11 rollout on Oppo devices.

NOTE: At present, Oppo has been releasing Android 11 beta updates alongside its ColorOS 7.2 skin instead on ColorOS 8. However, this is subject to change in the future.

Update 1 (September 5, 2020)

IST: 11:42 am: While Oppo has planned the Android 11 beta recruitment for the Find X2 and Reno3 series, Oppo Ace2 series (Ace2 and Ace2 EVA Limited Edition) is now in-line to get the public beta version of ColorOS based on Android 11 in China. Recruitment starts from September 7, 2020.

IST: 05:25 pm: Oppo has announced that it is now recruiting individuals who want to participate in the Android 11 (ColorOS 8) closed beta program for the Oppo Reno4 Pro in China. Head here for more details.

Update 2 (September 7, 2020)

IST: 11:28 am: The Android 11 beta recruitment program has been temporarily suspended for the Find X2 and Ace2 series in China due to some issues with the OTA recruitment channel server. The recruitment is said to re-open today, i.e. Sept. 07 around 6:00 pm CST.

IST: 7:30 pm: Android 11 beta (ColorOS 8) beta program kick-started today for the Reno3 and Reno3 Pro devices in Malaysia, with a limited quota of 2000 spots. But due to the recruiting channel server issues, the same got delayed to 10:00 (GMT). Here’s what the announcement post reads:

We are sorry that the Android 11 Beta Version application on Reno3(4G) & Reno3 Pro(4G) has been delayed due to some recruiting channel server issue. We are trying to release it as soon as possible starting from 10:00 (GMT) today.

Update 3 (September 8, 2020)

IST: 02:20 pm: Oppo has now opened up the recruitment for Oppo Find X2 and Oppo Find X2 Pro users in India, Indonesia and Thailand for the Android 11 beta. The company has set a 2000 user quota for this update. For more details, head here.

Update 4 (September 09)

IST: 10:54 am: Oppo has announced that it will be releasing its upcoming ColorOS skin based on Android 11 on September 14. The company has also chosen to name its skin ColorOS 11 rather than ColorOS 8 which would have been a bump up from ColorOS 7.2.

IST: 05:41 pm: Oppo has now kick-started the second round of recruitment for beta testers for Android 11 (ColorOS 11) on the Oppo Find X2 series. Users in Thailand, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Egypt can register to try out the beta.
