[Update: U.S. unlocked, AT&T, & T-Mobile too] Verizon Motorola Moto G7 Power Android 10 update rolling out

Motorola’s Moto G7 Power released last year with Android 9 Pie pre-installed and has since then picked up the Android 10 update in many regions. But Verizon Moto G7 Power units were yet to bag the Android 10 update.

Earlier, Motorola had confirmed that the Android 10 update for the device was pending partner approval. Mobile carriers such as Verizon often conduct their own internal testing of a system update before pushing it to units. As a result, updates for carrier-branded phones are often delayed.

On the other hand, unlocked units receive updates once the OEM is satisfied with the firmware. It’s now been a few weeks since the Android 10 update for the Moto G7 Power began rolling out outside the U.S., and it now appears Verizon is finally pushing the new software.

The update comes with software version QCO30.85-18 and is available over the air. Verizon Moto G7 Power users should see an update notification soon if it hasn’t yet arrived already. Further, a user has shared a screenshot of the update on Reddit.

The update brings a bunch of new features and improvements to the device such as a system-wide dark mode option and new gesture navigation options. Unfortunately, this will be the last major OS update for the Moto G7 Power since it isn’t eligible for the Android 11 update.
