This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from August 15) follows:
Unlocked Galaxy S9 and S9+ units began receiving the One UI 2.1 update based on Android 10 back in June. Since then, slowly but surely, it has started rolling out in other regions and even on units from different carriers.
A couple of weeks ago, we reported that AT&T, Boost Mobile, and Sprit Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ units received the One UI 2.1 update in the U.S. The new update brought along a few new features and improvements to Samsung’s One UI 2.0 skin.
Unfortunately, some users didn’t only get the new features and improvements along with the update. Soon after installing the One UI 2.1 update with the July security patch on their Galaxy S9 and S9+ units, some users began noticing that 4G connectivity simply stopped working.
According to reports, the issue seems to be affecting Sprint and Boost Mobile users. Users claim that they are no longer getting 4G connectivity and instead are stuck with 3G on the phone. Further, the issue seems to persist even after performing a restart.
For reference, we’ve added some user reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) of the Galaxy S9/S9+ LTE issue below:

But all hope is not lost since it seems Samsung is aware of the problem. According to a user on Samsung’s community, a representative from the company claimed that “An update is set to be out next week. Please bear with us.”
Here’s the entire comment posted by the user on Samsung’s community:
I just chatted with samsung rep who said they are working on another update and asked for patience.
“An update is set to be out next week. Please bear with us.”
“My apologies for the inconvenience. Rest assured we’re working hard for an update about to release. Please stay updated by going to your Settings > Software update and check it manually day by day.”
so we shall see. I think other folks are having other issues and bugs with the same update. Let us know if y’all hear anything else.
We cannot independently confirm the users claim, however, if it is true, then users can expect the Galaxy S9/S9+ LTE issue to be fixed by next week. Neither has Sprint nor has Boost Mobile made a public statement on the problem. So we’ll have to wait until next week to see whether the issue gets fixed.
