[Updated] Pocophone F1 (Poco F1) MIUI 12 beta stable update may go live soon, as next release won't be limited to Pilot testers reportedly

The Poco F1 — aka Pocophone F1 — has been in line to receive the stable MIUI 12 update for a long time. In mid-July, we reported that Xiaomi has resting MIUI 12 for the device internally and it has also begun recruiting beta testers.

Unfortunately, the release didn’t go according to plan since the update was postponed by a week only to be postponed yet again citing bugs and stability issues. But on August 10, Poco finally rolled out a MIUI 12 build for the Poco F1.

Although, this was only released for Mi Pilot testers who signed up for the program beforehand. What was even more disappointing is that the build did not bring many new features that were supposed to come along with MIUI 12.

Naturally, many users are now beginning to wonder when Poco will begin rolling out the stable MIUI 12 build for the Poco F1. And while Poco has not yet released an official statement, an admin of the official Mi Pilot testers group on Telegram has shed some light on the matter.

Responding to a users query regarding the update to MIUI 12 for the Poco F1, the admin stated that the next update will be a beta stable update. Here’s a screenshot of the comment made by the admin of the group:

For the uninitiated, Xiaomi usually rolls out updates in three main stages to the public. First comes the update for the Mi Pilot testers, then it releases the beta stable update, after which, the stable version is released.

Therefore, it means that the next update for the Poco F1 may be released to a limited number of random users. While this isn’t an official announcement from Poco itself, it’s as close as it gets to being official.

IST: 01:12 pm: While Pocophone F1/Poco F1 MIUI 12 beta stable update was expected to go live soon, it may be delayed further due to existing bugs and issues. A beta tester has recently reported that the Pocophone F1 began overheating while recording a short 4K 30fps video.

IST 05:43 pm: It seems that Poco has begun rolling out the stable MIUI 12 update for the Pocophone F1 (Poco F1). The update bears the software version 12.0.1.0.QEJMIXM and is reportedly available to Poco F1 MIUI 12 beta testers. See the full story here.
