New Realme UI remote parental control features coming

Realme’s new skin was introduced alongside the update to Android 10 and is aptly named Realme UI. It offers a bunch of useful features and has a more Stock Android-like appearance when compared to ColorOS.

The company has already rolled out Realme UI to almost every eligible smartphone barring the Realme C2 which has recently received the Android 10 beta and is expected to bag the stable update in September.

Realme is constantly making the effort to listen to its fans and provide features based on what fans ask for. A day ago, we reported that Realme is preparing to bring a few new features to the stock camera application soon.

And while users wait for those features to arrive, it appears Realme has announced that it has optimized its remote parental control features in Realme UI. This may not be exciting for children, but the new tweaks will allow parents to understand their children’s mobile usage habits better.

For starters, the remote parental control application has been tweaked to make it easier for parents to connect to their children’s phones. Once set up, parents can edit contact information and family details and can also set up application usage tracking.

Further, parents can now set time limits for certain applications to prevent children from spending too much time online. Additionally, Real-time location sharing is added and users can even quickly get driving directions right away to the location of a family member.

While adding a guardian, users will be prompted to set up an emergency contact. Therefore, in an emergency situation users can quickly get through to the number via SOS. Moreover, it’s now possible to have multiple guardians set up.

So as you can see, Realme has improved its remote parental control suite by adding in a bunch of features. At present, these new tweaks have been introduced in China and users can update the application from Realme’s own app store.

It’s worth noting that some details may have been lost in translation since the official post is entirely in Chinese. Further, Realme has not stated whether or not these new Realme UI parental control features will be available outside of China.
