Seasoned fans will know that OPPO already has a new ColorOS skin doing rounds in some of its newest phones. Dubbed ColorOS 7.2, the skin was first unveiled in June as part of the Reno4 series launch.

This, however, was only limited to the Chinese market. But OPPO being a global brand, it was never a matter of “if” but “when” the brand new ColorOS 7.2 update will start gaining traction outside its home market.

Earlier this month, OPPO finally unveiled the ColorOS 7.2 skin in India. Yep, you guessed it right! The skin came alongside the Reno4 series, just like in China, tagging along quite a good number of features.

Some of the features in question include AI app pre-loading that predicts your next move and loads the app you need, super power saving mode, OPPO Lab where new features are baked, and so much more.

Unfortunately, these features are limited to the OPPO Reno4 series at the moment, specifically for the reason that ColorOS 7.2 runs the show out of the box. As expected, owners of older devices are all over Twitter asking OPPO when to expect these features to trickle down.

The queries about ColorOS 7.2 update are not just limited to Reno 10X Zoom, Reno3 Pro and F9 users. But they are flying in from all corners of the ColorOS fanbase, all the way to the OPPO A series. Until now, though, none of OPPO’s responses seen in the screenshot below instill any confidence.

Apparently, OPPO support guys on Twitter have no idea if and when the ColorOS 7.2 update will be made available to other devices outside the Reno4 series. Matter of fact, they don’t even know some of the devices that will actually get this update.

So, where does this leave users? Build their own ColorOS 7.2 update with their own availability timeline?

If you only say “unavailable”, what is the situation of Users? Do you think they build Color OS7.2 for themselves? Shame. I don’t refer any one to buy your devices from now onwards.

Well, for now, your guess is as good as ours. But we want to believe OPPO is hard at work prepping a list of eligible devices and when to expect the ColorOS 7.2 update to go live. Until then, these details remain anyone’s guess.
