Are you a Gmail user? Is the service not working for you? Well, while not being able to access your emails is definitely terrible, find solace in the fact that you are not alone. We are seeing a lot of complaints from users saying the service is currently down. We have collected a few of these reports, take a look:

We’ve yet to come across an official from Google or team Gmail on this outage. However, we are keeping an active tab, and will update the story as and when we find more information. Until then, keep a tab on this space.

Update (August 16, 2019):

Gmail is reportedly encountering an outage as of writing. Users across micro-blogging site Twitter can be seen chiming Gmail down, not working, and throwing a Temporary error (500).

A quick look at Down detector confirms the service is indeed having issues in some of the region like India, Japan, Malaysia as well as US (as can be seen in the image below).

Update (August 16)

Google’s official service status page also confirms the service disruption. Here’s what it reads:

We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly. The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior.

Update (August 16)

The service status page now says:

We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/16/19, 2:41 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem.

Update (August 16)

The glitch should start to be get resolved at least for some as per the latest service status update.

Gmail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users within the next 1 hours. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change.

The status page says, the problem has now been fixed.

The problem with Gmail should be resolved.

Update 1 (August 20, 2020)

If you are experiencing issues with Gmail, then it’s because the service is experiencing disruptions at the moment. Google has officially acknowledged the issue on its G Suite dashboard.

Update 2 (August 20, 2020)

Google server status page now says Google Docs, Google Meet, and Google Voice are also experiencing issues.
