New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 18, 2020) follows:

The Samsung Galaxy S20 will be one of the first devices from the OEM to bag the Android 11 (One UI 3.0) update. It launched with Android 10 onboard towards the beginning of the year alongside the company’s custom skin — One UI 2.1. FYI, the One UI 2.1 skin is now available on other devices such as the Galaxy S9 series and the Note 9.

A few weeks ago, Samsung released the Galaxy Note 20 duo at its online UNPACKED event. During the event, the company also revealed that it will now begin pushing up to 3 OS updates for some of its devices. Prior to this, Samsung only pushed two major OS updates for all its devices.

However, this decision did not effect the eligible devices list for the upcoming Android 11 update. That being said, the South Korean giant has already kick-started its One UI 3.0 (Android 11) beta program in a few regions.

What this means is that interested users can register to participate in the beta program to get early access to the Samsung’s upcoming Android 11 update alongside the new One UI 3.0 skin. While we know that the beta update will begin rolling out shortly, we did not have much information on when to expect the stable release.

Thankfully, Samsung has shed some more light on the matter via an official announcement. In its latest press release, the company has stated that the Samsung Galaxy S20 line-up will be the first Galaxy devices to get the Android 11 update. Further, it also states that the devices will receive the update later this year.

Thus, users can expect to see the stable Android 11 update alongside One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy S20 line-up to be released this year itself. Of course, the availability of the update can vary by region and carrier. So it’s highly likely that the rollout may take place over a months time.

As usual, we will continue to keep track of the situation and will post an update once new information is available. Meanwhile, keep an eye out on our Samsung One UI 3.0 (Android 11) update tracker to be the first to know when the update begins rolling out.

Update 1 (October 03)

According to a Samsung Care Ambassador, the One UI 3.0 (Android 11) update is ready for the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Note 20 duo. Adding to that, he also mentioned that the update is almost done for the Galaxy S10 series and Note 10 series. Full story here.

Update 2 (October 24)

A new report indicates that the Wi-Fi Alliance has recently approved the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S20 LTE/5G. This suggests that the stable update may release sooner rather than later.
