New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on June 15, 2020) follows:
Oppo has been pretty solid on its game of updating the eligible devices with the Android 10-based ColorOS 7/ColorOS 7.1 update. Compared to some, the OEM was pretty late to make the OS upgrade available for the eligible device, but the process has been quite swift since it kick-started.
Two of the ColorOS 7 eligible devices, the Oppo A5 2020 and Oppo A9 2020 underwent the Android 10 beta program starting May 22. Then a few days later, the Chinese OEM shared an update plan which depicted that the Android 10 (ColorOS 7) for both the Oppo A5 and A9 2020, will be released for the users starting June 15 (at least in India).
And just as promised, right in time, the company has pushed the Android 10 (ColorOS 7) update for both the Oppo A9 2020 and A5 2020 devices, something they’ve been telling users since the day began.
We would like to inform you that the stable ColorOS 7 update for the OPPO A5 2020 will be released anytime today. Kindly keep an eye on your Software Update section.

The official announcement post just went live at the community conveying that the stable ColorOS 7.1 (Android 10-based) update is now available for both Oppo A9 and A5 2020 devices as version C.65. And the same has been confirmed by the official ColorOS Twitter handle.
#ColorOS7 + #Android10 Official Version for ?? ???? & ?? ???? has already been released! The latest version number is C.65. Go to update now!
Now once the Android 10 update is available for the users, the next burning question in their minds would be are the Oppo A5 and A9 eligible to receive Android 11 (ColorOS 8) update?
Well, Oppo has an update policy of pushing two major OS updates for its devices. But that is not true for all of its devices. However, if we take that into account, as per our speculated Android 11 update list, Oppo A9 2020 should get the Android 11 update, while it is unclear whether Oppo A5 2020 will get the update or not.
Considering the OEMs have already begun announcing which all devices will be getting Android 11 beta, let’s hope the soon release the official list of eligible devices to give clarity to users. Rest assured we’ll let you know as and when that happens. Until then, just enjoy the Android 10 on your units.
