This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from August 15) follows:
OnePlus has a rather slim portfolio of devices and as such, is able to roll out timely updates to its devices. Also, as OnePlus is one of the more community-driven brands, bugs and issues are more likely to be addressed quickly.
Currently, OnePlus is actively working on its upcoming skin on top of Android 11, OxygenOS 11. We have already seen the company roll out OxygenOS Beta 3 and you can check out what is new in that build here.
Even as that happens, OnePlus continues to roll out regular security updates to its devices. Today, OnePlus is rolling out the August security update to the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.
This update is rolling out as OxygenOS version 10.5.13 for the Indian variant and version 10.5.12 for devices in Europe. So what’s new with this update? Well, according to the changelog, this update brings system stability enhancements and fixes the Ambient Display overlapping issue.
This update has already started rolling out to eligible devices and has been reported by users in both India and in Europe. If your device hasn’t received this update yet, sit tight as OnePlus often rolls out these updates in batches.
OnePlus has had a pretty decent track record when it comes to rolling out updates and fixes to its devices. Most recently, we saw the OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro bag the July security update. This build added support for Buds and fixed ARCore failure, wireless charging, and more.
We can only hope that OnePlus strives to continue pushing out these updates to its devices as this all adds up to build a brand that is consumer-oriented.
As mentioned earlier, OnePlus is already working one Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 for its devices. Here’s a list of OnePlus devices that are set to get updated.
