OnePlus was the first OEM besides Google itself to release the Android 11 beta update for its flagships — the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Further, soon after Google released the Android 11 beta 3 update, OnePlus followed suit and released its OxygenOS 11 beta 3 update.
The new Android 11 developer preview 3 update is the final developer preview update and the company will kick-start the Open Beta update soon. Therefore, more OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro users will be able to experience all the new features that come with OxygenOS 11 soon.
Of course, when ready, the stable Android 11 update will be released for the OnePlus 8 series first before making its way to other eligible devices from the company. But this does not mean that interested users can’t experience some new features offered with the OxygenOS 11 (Android 11) update.
Apparently, users have managed to get some HydrogenOS 11 applications running on their OnePlus devices on Android 10 (OxygenOS 10). A user who goes by the name Faiso333 on Reddit has shared a list of applications from HydrogenOS 11 that are working on the OnePlus 6T running on Android 10 with the software version 10.3.5.
It seems that the ZenMode, Gallery app, Screenshot app, Launcher, Weather app, and a couple of more apps are working. In fact, apps that have been extracted from OxygenOS 11 also seem to be available to download via APK Mirror.
Although, keep in mind that some applications do not work as expected and may crash after you install the APK file. Therefore, make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into before installing any APK. In case an app does end up crashing repeatedly, go to the app’s settings – tap on the 3 dots – then tap on Uninstall updates.
Doing this will remove the new update you installed via the APK file and will replace it with the stock version that comes with the current build. Nevertheless, more users have also confirmed in the same thread that the OxygenOS 11 apps are working on a few other OnePlus phones running on Android 10.
That being said, in case you’d rather wait for the official Android 11 update to arrive on your phone, you can check out our OnePlus OxygenOS 11 (Android 11) update tracker to know when the update is released for your OnePlus phone.
