The Android 10-based One UI 2.1 update is out for many Samsung devices while more are yet to receive it. We reported earlier that different Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ variants have been receiving the One UI 2.1 update.
Users of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are receiving the One 2.1 update in Brazil right now. Moreover, those on the Fido Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ units also got the much awaited update as promised.
Now, it seems that the unlocked Canadian Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ variants are also receiving the update along with the July security patch. The information comes from Reddit where a user posted about the update for their Galaxy S9.
This means that the unlocked Canadian Galaxy S9+ units may have started receiving the Android 10-based One UI 2.1 update as well. The Galaxy S9 update version G960WVLU7ETG1 weighs 1GB in size which suggests that it is a major update.
Also, another user has mentioned on the same post that they have received the update as well and it is indeed the One UI 2.1 update.
Meanwhile, if you own an unlocked Canadian Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+, be sure to check for the update and let us know by dropping a comment below. You can also check out our Samsung Android 10 update tracker if your device is yet to receive the OS update.
It must be noted that Samsung is also working on the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update but it will not be available for Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+. Nevertheless, both devices will receive monthly security updates till 2021.
