[New version out] Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G & Mi 9 MIUI 12 stable update rolling out

Rejoice! Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi 9 users, because the Chinese OEM has now made the MIUI 12 stable update available for both handsets.

The OEM has already made the MIUI 12 stable update available for a number of phones in its home country of China as well as other regions.

And now the MIUI 12 stable update is seeding for users of Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi 9 in China. Note that both phones are receiving the China beta stable updates, just like the Xiaomi Mi 9T, which picked up the update, yesterday.

These updates are expected to bring a revamped design, Super Wallpapers (3D models of Earth and Mars), AOD, new animations, Dynamic Weather, new gestures, enhanced privacy, and more.

The Mi 9 MIUI 12 update is arriving with version number MIUI V12.0.1.0.QFACNXM and has been pushed via OTA. Meaning that it will take some time to arrive on all Mi 9 units in China.

Similarly, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G MIUI 12 stable update comes with version number MIUI V12.0.1.0.QFXCNXM and has been made available via OTA.

Now, since the MIUI 12 stable update is already available for the Mi 9 and Mi 9 Pro 5G in China, the update should soon make its way to other regions as well. Typically, the gap is around two weeks, at the max.

But there is no confirmation from Xiaomi about this, and we would like to advise you to take this piece of information with a pinch of salt. We will keep you posted once the update is live for other regions as well.

A new software version has now been released for Mi 9 Pro 5G units in China. The update does not bring many new features. Here’s the changelog:

The Mi 9 is now receiving a software update. This time around, the version is V12.0.3.0.QFACNXM and is rolling out to users who have the China Stable ROM. It also carries the June 2020 security patch. The changelog for the update is given below:
