NOTICE: We’ve compiled a comprehensive Android 11 update tracker for all the major OEMs and carriers, and will be updating it continuously.

Every year, Google takes to the stage to announce a new Android version and the features it has to offer. Typically, this is done during the Google I/O event. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the search giant had to switch things up this year.

Ditching the big event, Google released the first Android 11 beta back in June. Since then, the Android 11 beta has been released for many devices. At the beginning of the month, it was available on 13 devices from 7 vendors.

But that’s not all, another device also quickly joined the bunch. This being the Tecno Pouvoir 4 from Tecno Mobiles. The first non-Pixel devices to grab the update, however, were the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

Previously, upcoming Android versions were only available on a handful of devices before the official release. Thus, it’s good to see OEMs and Google working together to speed up the release of newer Android updates.

Although, carrier-branded devices from carriers such as Rogers often get updates days or weeks after it arrives on unlocked units. As a result, the state of Android updates is still far from perfect. Nonetheless, carriers do push these updates eventually after internal testing.

With Android 11 just around the corner, users are beginning to question whether or not their devices will grab the upcoming software. Fortunately, a few Rogers-branded phones are expected to receive the Android 11 update.

Rogers (Canada) Android 11 update: Eligible devices

Most OEMs roll out two to three major Android version updates for their devices. Thus, it has become somewhat easy to predict which smartphones will get an update and which ones won’t. Based on past update cycles and trends, we’ve compiled a list of phones from Roger that will bag the Android 11 update.

[Note: The Moto E is eligible, but going by the trend, the E series are not really offered an OS update. All they get is security patches. So don’t be surprised if the device isn’t upgraded]

Nevertheless, these are the phones from Rogers that are expected to get the Android 11 update. Of course, this list is by no means an official confirmation. There are chances that some of the devices mentioned here may not be updated.

Further, a device that has not been listed here might receive the update. While we can somewhat predict which devices will pick up Android 11, it’s way too early to provide an estimated release date for any device.

Although, it’s but obvious that the first in line to receive the stable Android 11 update will be the Pixel devices from Google. Following that, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro may be the first non-Google phones to get the update.

Of course, carrier-branded phones such as the ones from Rogers may receive it a tad later than unlocked units as we mentioned earlier. Speaking of which, we’ve also created a list of Android 11 eligible devices from T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.

Moreover, you can also take a look at our Android 11 update trackers for OEMs such as Xiaomi, Vivo, Huawei/Honor, OnePlus, and Realme.
