The Asus ZenFone Live L1 aka Lite L1 and its successor, the Live L2 are both set to receive the Android 10 update soon. Surprisingly, even after a year’s gap, the specifications of both devices were strikingly similar. Further, Asus also pre-loaded the same software on the Live L2 as the Live L1 which released a year earlier.
ZenFone Live devices have multiple variants, some with Android Go and others with the standard Android version. Out of these, the entry-level units with the Snapdragon 425 are the ones that run on Android Go.
Both the Live L1 and the Live L2 released with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box or Android 8.0 Oreo Go-edition for the low-end models. Typically, Asus releases at least 2 major software updates for its phones with a few exceptions.
As we reported earlier, both the ZenFone Live L1 and the Live L2 have already received the Android 10 beta update. Thus, it’s only a matter of when rather than if the devices will grab the stable Android 10 update.
Nonetheless, the duo did pick up new monthly security patches that are still based on Android Oreo and Android Go-based for some SKUs. Apart from boosting security, the updates do not bring any new features or improvements that are mentioned.
