The Redmi Note 9S and the Redmi Note 9 Pro were released back in April and May 2020 respectively. These two devices are very similar, down to the Snapdragon 720G that powers both.
Both devices run Android 10 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 on top. The Note 9 Pro slightly edges out the Note 9S in the camera department, spotting a 64MP main sensor compared to a 48MP unit on the Note 9S. Overall, these are two very similar devices.
Both devices are in line for an update to Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 skin on top of Android but that isn’t due for a few more weeks. Today, however, users of these two devices have something to look out for as the company is rolling out the July 2020 security patch on top of Android 10.
For the Redmi Note 9S, this update doesn’t seem to bring much else other than a bump in the system’s security patch level. Below is the changelog.

The update is currently rolling out as an OTA to users with the Global variant as V11.0.10.0.QJWMIXM, up from version V11.0.9.0.QJWMIXM. This OTA weighs in at 198MB. European variant of the Redmi Note 9S is getting it as V11.0.4.0.QJWEUXM, up from version V11.0.3.0.QJWEUXM with an OTA size of 420MB.

The European variant is getting this update as V11.0.4.0.QJZEUXM, up from version V11.0.3.0.QJZEUXM with an OTA weighing 413MB while the Russian and Indonesian variants are getting it as V11.0.3.0.QJZRUXM, up from version V11.0.2.0.QJZRUXM and V11.0.3.0.QJZIDXM, up from version V11.0.2.0.QJZIDXM respectively.
