Original story (published on July 22, 2020) follows:

Huawei has been facing some serious challenges, especially in the global market. This is in light of the whole US trade ban. With this, new Huawei devices are forced to ship out without Google Play Services, a huge deal-breaker in many markets.

Despite the odds, Huawei is pushing on. The company is actively developing its skins on top of Android, EMUI and Magic UI.

The Honor Play 4T Pro was unveiled earlier this year and on the spec sheet, it is a solid package. The device is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 810 chip and juicing things up is a 4,000mAh battery. It spots 6/8GB of RAM and has a 48MP main camera.

Today, reports coming in indicate that Huawei is beginning the Public Beta testing program for two of its devices, the above-mentioned Honor Play 4T Pro and the Honor Play 9A.

The Honor Play 9A was also unveiled in April 2020 and packs a 720×1600 display, 4GB of RAM, and a massive 5,000mAh battery. Under the hood of this device is the Mediatek Helio P35 chip (MT6765).

Already, a good number of Huawei and Honor devices have already been updated to EMUI 10.1 or Magic UI 3.1. Most recently, we saw the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Honor View30 and Honor View30 Pro 5G variant pick up EMUI 10.1 & Magic UI 3.1 updates. More on that here.

We have a more detailed coverage of the same in our dedicated EMUI 10.1 tracker here.
