Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 was among the first devices that got a taste of MIUI 12 update when it arrived in late April. The initial rollout, as has always been the case with MIUI updates, was limited to the Chinese market.

A month later, the global market got a sit aboard the MIUI 12 ship. But this was only for select devices, namely Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, albeit in beta. Considering their premium nature, this was always bound to happen.

Global Redmi Note 7 owners had to wait until mid-June to get the nod in the MIUI 12 Mi Pilot program, but then again, this was still a limited program for select few.

Fast forward to today, the stable MIUI 12 update is now rolling out to the Redmi Note 7. Unfortunately, the firmware is available in China, with the rest of the globe next in line. Back at home, the much-awaited stable firmware is arriving as MIUI version 12.0.1.0.QFGCNXM.

Similar to other software updates before it, the Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 stable update is airborne, meaning some units may take some time before receiving the download notification. The good news is that we got you the download link for manual installation so you don’t have to wait days or maybe weeks for the OTA.

Not long ago, the Note 7 got updated to Android 10, so expect that the incoming MIUI 12 update will be based on this OS. The actual availability of the update in other regions is unclear, but we’ll update our MIUI 12 update tracker with this information as and when we get it.
