OnePlus 7, 6 & 5 series upcoming bugfixes: Unresponsive double-tap to wake, Status bar in full-screen mode, alarm not working & more

OnePlus, one of the most prominent Chinese OEMs, faced criticism for delaying the OnePlus 7T January 2020 patch. This update got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the tech company did its best to keep the situation under control, there is still room for improvement.

Users have been raising concerns about issues on various OnePlus devices following recent updates to Android 10, be it with HydrogenOS 10 in China or the global OxygenOS 10. Most of these issues are related to functionality and accessibility.

Many OnePlus 7/7 Pro and OnePlus 7T/7T Pro users requested for new fonts to be added to the OS. Also, users of OnePlus Bus Card and Wallet demanded support for more banks to be added. The announcement states that future updates will incorporate some of the suggested changes.

With the latest updates to Android 10, some users are finding it difficult to use some OnePlus features due to bugs in the software. The company also responded to such queries stating that subsequent updates will include fixes for most of the known issues.

OnePlus 7/7 Pro and OnePlus 7/7T Pro users noted that even after enabling the hidden navigation bar feature, the bar continues to appear. Also, some users reported that the double-tap to wake feature is unresponsive at times in the latest Android 10 stable update (10.0.6.GM57).

Apart from this, there appears to be another issue where users found it difficult to pull down the status bar in the fullscreen display mode. All these issues have been addressed as known issues and the OEM will be fixing them in the next stable update.

The same is the case with OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users. These users faced issues related to WeChat such as screen flashes while browsing media and missing voice playback. The vendor has requested users to update WeChat to the latest 64-bit version until the next stable update comes out.

OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users faced issues related to alarms not going off. OnePlus says it is aware of this issue and it will be fixed in the next stable update.

The smartphone manufacturer is keen to address many Android 10-related issues in upcoming updates and this is good news for not just HydrogenOS 10 users but also for OxygenOS 10 users since some of the changes from the former will eventually trickle down to the latter.

Although it has been a tough year with smartphone OEMs barely able to keep up with software update schedules, OnePlus users can now look forward to an improved software experience in the near future.
