New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on July 10, 2020) follows:
OnePlus devices have been known for their incredible value proposition, packing the best hardware at a fraction of the price of similarly spec’d competition. However, that has since changed with newer models as they’ve crept up the price range. One area where the company hasn’t changed is when it comes to supporting its devices with updates.
Today, OnePlus is sticking with its tradition and rolling out an OTA update to users of the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro who are on the Open Beta channel. This update, Open Beta 6, brings with it a few changes and fixes to the devices.
This update is based on the latest July 2020 security patch level and comes to fix one of the issues that OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro users have been facing for a while now, double-tap to wake. We first shed light on the issue with this device’s double-tap to wake back in October 2019 and the issue was supposedly fixed in the following October 2019 patch to the device.
Well, this Open Beta 6 update seeks to fix the issue again among other fixes. The update also brings with it an addition to the Game Space feature, Moments. The rest of the changelog includes a few more enhancements and fixes.

As this is an OTA update, it will be pushed out wirelessly to all users of the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro who are on the Open Beta channel. This means that any user who flashed a previous Open Beta build on their OnePlus 7T/7T Pro should get this OTA soon.
These fixes should eventually trickle down to other OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro users in the Official Stable channel as soon as Beta testing is completed so stay tuned for this update on your OnePlus 7T/7T Pro.
Update (July 10)
OnePlus 7 Pro users are also reporting a new Open Beta 16 update rolling out to their units with a similar changelog to Open Beta 6 for OnePlus 7/7T Pro, as seen in the screenshot below.
