LG G7 ThinQ battery discharge/estimation icon not updating properly for some users after Android 10 update

The LG G7 ThinQ was the company’s flagship in 2018 and it released with Android 8.0 Oreo. LG isn’t necessarily known for providing speedy system updates. The company often pushes out updates much later than the competition. Furthermore, the company recently unveiled its update plans for the third-quarter of 2020.

Given the slow software updates, one might assume the company thoroughly tests its software to iron out any bugs and issues. But there are often problems that may slip through unnoticed. Speaking of which, the G7 ThinQ picked up the Android 10 update a couple of months ago.

The new update brought along a host of new user privacy features along with the company’s UX 9.0 skin on top of Android 10. Unfortunately, like most software updates, there are bound to be a few bugs and issues that tag along.

LG G7 ThinQ users have spotted an issue after installing the Android 10 update. There appears to be a bug that is preventing the estimated time remaining for the battery from showing. Affected users are sharing the screenshot of the battery settings page showing the bug.

Moreover, this problem has only started after upgrading to the latest software. According to users, the ‘Analyzing usage…’ text isn’t replaced by the actual time remaining. Therefore, users cannot see the estimated time remaining before the battery dies.

LG has not yet addressed the problem in any way. While this should not be a major problem for most users, there is a temporary workaround for the issue. That is to install a third-party battery usage application. Accu​Battery is a well-known and trusted battery usage app that you can try out.
