MIUI 12 was unveiled back on April 27, 2020, and since then, it has been the talk of the town, especially among Xiaomi smartphone users.
Users are excited to know when the updates will be made available for their devices. Owing to a huge portfolio of phones and its presence in multiple regions, the MIUI 12 update is yet to appear on several Xiaomi phones.

And a piece of new information has popped up regarding MIUI 12 beta updates for the Xiaomi Mi 8 series, Mi MIX 2S, Mi Max 3, and Mi MIX 3.
For the unaware, Xiaomi releases weekly MIUI beta updates for participating devices in China. Global ROMs were also treated with weekly beta updates, but it was later scrapped.
This week MIUI 12 China Beta ROM was tagged with version v20.7.2 and here are the changes what the participating devices will get:

1. Updated Google security patch [06-2020, 07-2020] to improve system security
2. Fix the issue that the full-screen gestures fail even after exiting the Ultra Power saving mode[Status bar, Notification Bar]
1. Temporarily removed the frosted glass effect of the floating notification bottom plate
2. Fix the problem that the occasional desktop drop-down status bar fails
And as a part of MIUI 12 beta 20.7.2 release notes, Xiaomi also points out that MIUI 12 beta ROM development for Mi 8, Mi 8 UD, Mi 8 Transparent Edition, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Lite, Mi MIX 2S, Mi Max 3, and Mi MIX 3 will end from September 5, 2020.

From September 5th, 2020: MIUI China Beta ROM development will be stopped for these devices:- Mi 8, Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8 Transparent edition, Mi 8SE, Mi 8 Lite, Mi MIX 2S, Mi Max 3, Mi MIX 3.

Previously, it was reported by Xiaomi that Mi 8, Mi 8 UD, Mi 8 Transparent Edition, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Lite, Mi Mix 2S, Mi Max 3, and Mi Mix 3 will stop receiving MIUI 12 beta updates from September 25, 2020.
