Redmi Note 9 MIUI 12 update likely pulled as device bags MIUI 11-based June security patch in Europe (Download link inside)

Xiaomi has multiple variants of the Redmi Note 9 sold in various markets across the globe. Back at home, though, no one knows any device by the name Redmi Note 9. Instead, this same device goes by the name Redmi 10X 4G.

That’s classic Xiaomi if you ask me. But then again, the name Xiaomi decides to give to its device is not the concern of this piece. Rather, their software updates are what concerns us, more so the recent MIUI 12 update.

Matter of fact, the Redmi 10X 4G has already been upgraded to MIUI 12 update in China. The firmware went live a few days ago as MIUI 12.0.1.0.QJOCNXM, up from the previous version 11.0.6.0.QJOCNXM.

But by the look of things, it seems the Redmi 10X 4G aka Redmi Note 9 MIUI 12 update has been pulled for unknown reasons. The story is pretty much the opposite when it comes to its global counterpart, the Redmi Note 9.

As of this writing, the device is now receiving a new MIUI 11-based security update that bumps the patch level to June 2020.

The update, which is arriving over the air as MIUI 11.0.5.0.QJOEUXM, up from V11.0.4.0.QJOEUXM and weighs in at 281MB, is targeting the European variant of the Redmi Note 9.

Although not mentioned in the release notes, the new update should also tag along performance enhancements and random bug fixes here and there, so be sure to grab it once the download notification shows up on your phone.
