Nothing can be more frustrating for smartphone users than not picking up the desired update in the stipulated time. Motorola Moto G8 Plus users are going through this scenario as I write this.

Motorola Moto G8 Plus was announced back in 2019 and it comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box and has been waiting for quite a while to get updated to Android 10 OS.

Earlier we have reported that the Moto G8 Plus Android 10 update was slated to arrive in April, which definitely never happened. And if we go by recent information, a new update is live for the handset.

Hold your horses! Unfortunately, it is not what most Moto G8 Plus users were expecting rather, it is the June 2020 security update. This new update arrives with version number PPIS29.65-51-5 and has been currently spotted in Brazil. So, other regions are expected to join soon.

Here is what the official changelog reads:

What’s new:
– Android security: includes the updates of Android security patches through June 1, 2020.

The update has been pushed via OTA in batches and will take some time in arriving on all units. If you have not yet received any update notification then you can head over to Settings>About Phone>System Updates and check for updates manually.

Although Moto G8 Plus Android 10 update is nowhere to be seen, Motorola has delivered the update to a bunch of its phones. For a complete list of Motorola phones that have received the Android 10 update, you can head here.

While users wait for the Android 10 update to hit their Moto G8 Plus units, one burning question in their minds would be whether Moto G8 Plus will grab the Android 11 update or not. Well, the simple answer to this is no because Motorola only guarantees one OS update.

And since the phone comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box, Android 10 would be the first and last OS update for the Moto G8 Plus. You can check out our detailed post on this, here.
