HMD Global has started rolling out the stable version of the Nokia 7.2 Android 10 update. The firmware arrives after weeks of waiting following the device’s launch at the IFA 2019 event last September.

Alongside the Nokia 7.2, the Nokia 6.2 was also unveiled on this same day. Both devices came preinstalled with Android Pie despite the fact that Google had just started rolling out the stable Android 10 OTA to the Pixel phones.

With sections of its fanbase not entirely convinced by HMD’s decision to go with Android Pie instead of Android 10 out of the box, the company moved in to assure them that the new OS will be ready to roll out in Q1 2020.

But then the coronavirus happened, forcing the Finnish company to revise its Android 10 roadmap, pushing the Nokia 7.2 Android 10 update even further. Until today, it had widely circulated that the update will be released in April or June 2020.

But as I write this, Juho Sarvikas has taken to Twitter to announce that the Nokia 7.2 is now receiving the new OS as an OTA.

To back his claim, we already have a couple of reports from device owners confirming that they’ve received Android 10 OTA on their units. The update is arriving as version V2.250 and weighs in at 1.57GB.

The Nokia 7.2 now joins other Nokia devices in receiving the update to Android 10, among them the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 2.2, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 7.1, and Nokia 6.1 Plus.
