Android 10 has been out for about 10 months at this point and as such, many of the devices that were eligible for an update to it have already been updated. Sadly, there are still some outliers like Xiaomi’s Redmi 7.
Despite being eligible for an update to Android 10-based MIUI 11, the device which was first unveiled March 2019 with Android 9 Pie, still runs the same version of Android it launched with.
From the look of things, it appears as though users of this device might have to wait a little bit longer before their devices get updated to Android 10. This is because Xiaomi is today, rolling out an update to the device, but it is not the one they’re all hoping for.
Redmi 7 is getting updated to the May 2020 Android security patch level and this update is based on MIUI 11 and Android 9 Pie. This update bears software version number V11.0.6.0.PFLRUXM. This update’s changelog hints to little more than a regular Android security patch update.
System
Updated Android security patch until May 2020. Improved system security.
