The latest version of Vivo’s Funtouch OS, i.e. the Functouch OS 10 custom UI update was earlier rolled out to the devices along with the Android 10 update. This made us believe that the OEM will be pushing Funtouch OS 10 coupled with Android 10 for the handsets.
But, it seems like in order to get Funtouch OS 10, you are not required to be running Android 10 because, as per the latest information, Vivo is now pushing the Funtouch OS 10 for the Vivo X23 which is based on Android 9 Pie.
Something similar happened with the Vivo X21s (aka Vivo V11/V11 Pro globally), where the device picked up the latest Funtouch OS 10 update while still running Android 9 Pie.
So, this makes it fairly clear that Vivo phones running Android 9 Pie are also eligible to receive Funtouch OS 10, apart from the ones getting it along with Android 10.
The Vivo X23 Funtouch OS 10 beta update started sometime back in the home country of China and now the OEM has decided to seed the stable version of the update for its users.
As expected the update has been pushed for the Chinese users via OTA and it arrives with version number V7.5.16, weighing around 3.81 GB in size. So, make sure that you are using a stable internet connection to download the update.
As far as the features of the Funtouch OS 10 are concerned, users receiving the update on their Vivo X23 will get a new minimal design, new icons, new animations, shortcuts, live wallpapers, Edge light effects, dedicated JOVI assistant, App Sharing and much more.
This also means that the Vivo X23 users have to wait for a bit more for getting their hands on the OS and as per our tracker, only a few of the Vivo devices have been fortunate as of now, to get the Android 10 update.
While users wait for the Vivo X23 Android 10 update, as per our speculated list of Android 11 eligible Vivo phones, the Vivo X23 will miss out on the upcoming OS from Google since it came with Android Oreo out of the box and Android 10 would be the device’s second major OS update.
