Motorola Moto One Macro May security update arrives while users await Android 10

Although Google has delayed the launch of the Android 11 Beta 1 update, the OEM is well-prepped up for the future, and we can see the update being pushed for the Pixel devices anytime, the company feels like its about time.

While it is happening, on one hand, there are several devices like Motorola One Macro that are still waiting to be upgraded to Android 10.

And Motorola also has a habit of not letting its users know about the software update roadmap, which only makes things more blurry. The Motorola One Macro came with Android 9 Pie out of the box, and Android 10 would be the device’s first major OS update.

As per one of our recent reports, on the Android 10 update status for the Motorola Moto One Macro, one of the forum admin stated that the update will be rolled out in the future as it is currently “pending partner approval”.

And by “pending partner approval”, we don’t know exactly what the OEM is trying to say. While Android 10 updates in hanging in the balance, Motorola has pushed a new security update for the Moto One Macro.

Notably, the May security patchset is live for the device based on Android 9 Pie. The update arrives with version number PMDS29.70-81-3 and is a purely incremental security update.

Probably, not what the users were expecting, but it is at least something and a security update is also very important. It goes without saying that the update has been seeded via OTA in a staggered manner. Meaning that it will take sometime before the update hits all the Motorola One Macro units.

As Android 10 update is yet to arrive, if we become optimistic and talk about the Android 11 update, taking all the things into consideration, as per our dedicated Motorola Android OS update tracker, it is not guaranteed that Android 10 will come for the One Macro, as it is not a part of the Android One program.
