This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on April 28) follows:
As the development of Android 11 kicks into high gear, eligible devices that have not yet been updated to Android 10 continue to seem like the minority. This, even as more and more OEMs continue to wind up rollouts of Android 10.
According to many of the shared timelines, this rollout should culminate sometime within this second quarter of 2020 and taper off moving into the third quarter of the year, right around the time we should see the official launch of Android 11 sometime in September (at least we hope.)
So Samsung is reportedly rolling out Android 10 to yet another of its devices, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star. This device is sold in the Chinese market as the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star.
This update brings the new skin, One UI 2 on top of Android 10 to the device. You can identify this update by its G8850ZCU4CTD8 build number. This update’s changelog for the Galaxy A8 Star is as follows;
This update also packs the April Android security patch update. As this is an OTA, it might be a while before it is available to your device. If you are not the waiting type and would like to flash the update onto your Galaxy A8 Star device, you can grab the firmware from SamMobile here.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Star, the Chinese variant of the Galaxy A8 Star that is also getting the update now also has its firmware available for download. You can grab it from SamFrew here.
