By now, most OEMs are pretty much winding up their rollout of Android 10 to their eligible devices. This is because Android 10 has been out for almost 10 months at this point and we have also seen the development of Android 11 picking up pace.
Vivo, a major player in the Android ecosystem has also been hard at work, trying to push out Android 10 to eligible devices. We have seen a number of devices from the company receiving Android 10 already and a few more in Beta testing.
Today, Vivo is reportedly rolling out its Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10 to two of its devices, at least in its Beta form. The Vivo X23 and the Vivo Z3 have started receiving an update that is said to be based on Android 10.
As is often the case with Beta builds, this one too will see a rather limited roll out as a start and the masses will only get an update once the firmware goes into the Stable build phase.
This update brings with it a bunch of improvements and new features, all based on Android 10. The following is the update’s changelog. Please note that we could only get our hands on the Chinese version of this changelog.
According to Vivo’s Android 10 roadmap, the Vivo X23 and the Vivo Z3 are expected to get the stable release of Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10 sometime in late June 2020. The roll-out of these Beta builds is therefore right on time if these timelines are anything to go by.
At the time of writing, a number of Vivo devices are undergoing Beta testing for Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10. These devices include;
– Vivo Z5, Z5i
– Vivo Z5X
– Vivo S1 Pro
– Vivo X30
– Vivo S5 and NEX
– Vivo X27
Another bunch of devices from Vivo has already been updated to Android 10. These devices that currently run on the company’s Funtouch OS 10 include;
The company has also since released a list of its devices that it says, are eligible for an update to Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 when it drops sometime later this year. For more on that, check out our coverage of the same.
