This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (May 27) follows:
Android 10 is already 9 months old and as such, most eligible devices have already received an update to some version of Android skin that is based on Android 10.
The few devices that haven’t been updated yet, have an ongoing development program courtesy of their respective OEM. That is the same case with the Vivo Z5X.
The Vivo Z5X was expected to receive the beta update for Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10 on May 28. The company has since decided to drop the update a day before the expected date.
Users of the Vivo Z5X on the Beta channel have reported receiving Beta build updates to Android 10 on their devices. These updates bear the software version number PD1911_A_1.10.9 and weighs in at a rather hefty 3.75 GB.
As this is a Beta build, it is worth noting that bugs are expected so unless you want to deal with glitches and things not working right, you might want to hold off for a while until Vivo manages to roll out a more stable build for the masses.
This update is based on Android 10, meaning you can expect the usual Android 10 features to be baked in, on top of other Funtouch OS 10 features. The following is the update’s changelog. Please note that we could only get our hands on the Chinese changelog.
Even while this unfolds, it has been confirmed that the Vivo Z5X will get updated to Android 11/R.
Update 1 (June 29)
The update to Funtouch OS 10 is now live for the Vivo Z5 and Z5x. Head here for more details.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this beta program and update when we get a stable build released. Keep an eye on our dedicated Vivo section for those and much more.
