This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on May 21) follows:

A Mi forum moderator revealed earlier this month that Redmi Note 7 Android 10 update could be released as part of the device’s MIUI 12 update.

The mod also hinted that this information isn’t accurate and true to this, some fresh details are just popping up via the same Mi forums. Rather than bundling Android 10 in the Note 7 MIUI 12 update, it seems Xiaomi could be thinking otherwise.

Once again coming from a Mi forum moderator, it appears that Xiaomi could bring Android 10 to the Redmi Note 7 sans MIUI 12. Instead, the firmware will have the older MIUI 11 running on top of AOSP.

We understand but recently Redmi Note 7 received V11.0.6.0, talking about Android 10 update, its gonna available soon maybe before MIUI 12(subject to change) thats what news i can share with you.

The fact that Redmi Note 7 is expected to receive MIUI 12 in phase 2 (Q3 2020) could be the reason for this supposed change. Xiaomi probably doesn’t want to keep fans waiting any longer when they can deliver Android 10 sooner.

This development also adds weight to a report that came out earlier this month suggesting that the Redmi Note 7 Android 10 update can be expected in May.

Unfortunately, no one knows if these details will materialize, so the best we can do is wait. While at it, why not try the customized version of Android 10 on your Note 7?

So far, we’ve highlighted Android 10-based ROMs for the Redmi Note 7 from LineageOS and Pixel Experience, two of the best out there with stock Android experience.

Not long ago, the latest May security patch was pushed to the Redmi Note 7 based on Android Pie. If anything, this could suggest the wait for Android 10 could take a little longer than expected. But to this point, it’s a hunch that we’re now throwing around.

Either way, we’ll keep an eye on the story and let you know when Android 10 and MIUI 12 begin rolling out to the Redmi Note 7 and other Xiaomi devices.
