Area F2 (Rainbow Six clone) shutting down & not available on Play Store for download

Battle Royale games came into fashion three years ago & since then we have seen the development of a lot of BR titles both for Consoles & mobile. PUBG Mobile & Call of Duty Mobile are immensely popular when it comes to the shooting games for Android & iOS devices.

Following the footsteps of Tencent & Activision, Qookka Games released Area F2 game for Android devices. It is the first Close-Quarters Battle (AKA CQB) shooting game for the mobile platform.

The game is somewhat similar to Rainbow Six Siege & features 5v5 Close-Quarters Battle format. Even in the beta version, the game crossed 100k downloads on the PlayStore. The game was growing steadily & it’s community was also expanding slowly.

But there is sad news for Area F2 fans, as the app is not available any more on the Play Store. Developers have decided to shut down the game & they have also shared a termination message within the game.

The official message from devs reads as follows: “We will terminate the service of the current version at 12 pm on May 20, 2020.” However, the support for the game will continue until June & you check that information at the end of the post.

The reason for the shutdown is a lawsuit filed by UbiSoft against Apple & Google for making available clone of it’s game R6 on their respective stores. A prominent Area F2 leaker, has tweeted the following regarding this shutdown of the game.

Qookka Games has further stated that the support for the game will be available until June 20, 2020, at 12 pm PDT. Players can contact devs through the game client & the official website. Have a look at the company statement down below.
