Pokemon is one of the biggest & most popular franchises on the planet. Last year, we saw the release of Pokemon Sword & Shield & the game broke many records with its enormous sales. However, the game was only available on the Nintendo Switch platform.
Gamefreak has already announced two major DLC for the game. One of which will land in the summer season & the next one in the fall. Speaking of the Summer season DLC, it will be called the Isle of Armor.
In the Isle of Armor DLC, we will see the release of many new Pokemon including Galarian Slowpoke, Kubfu, Urshifu, Gigantamax Rillaboom, Gigantamax Cinderace, Gigantamax Inteleon.
Pokemon Sword & Shield Fall DLC will be known as The Crown Tundra expansion. We will see the introduction of the following Pokemon in Tundra DLC : Calyrex, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, a dragon-type Regi Pokemon.
Well, as we can see, a lot of content has already been planned for the Pokemon Sword & Shield & it is a paid DLC, so it is highly unlikely a new Pokemon game will be released on Nintendo Switch as it can affect the sales of these DLCs.
But yes, we might hear an announcement of a new Pokemon game for the year 2021 which will release on Switch. However, Pokemon Sleep game which encourages users to sleep has an initial release date of 2020. In addition to this, we can expect to hear a new Pokemon game for mobile devices. As last year, we saw the release of the Pokemon Masters.
Now the question arises when the new announcement will be made ? Well, we can expect the news of a new Pokemon game in any of the upcoming Nintendo Direct streams. Rest assured, we are keeping a tab on all the developments & will update you with more information whenever it arrives.
