Android 10 is the most awaited firmware update any Android smartphone user is expecting on their device if, they have not received one. LG V40 ThinQ users were also among those, who are awaiting Android 10 update on their units.
As we all know, the Korean manufacturer LG has not been able to build a reputation of one of the most sought after brands when it comes to rolling out timely updates for its devices.
The company made an update timeline available for the users, according to which the LG V40 ThinQ was supposed to pick up the update somewhere around Q2 of 2020.
Prior to this, the Android 10 kernel source code also went live for the LG V40 ThinQ hinting, that the Android 10 update might appear soon on the devices.
And the latest update that the LG V40 ThinQ grabbed was the March security patch, which also triggered the VoWiFi (WiFi calling), screen recording, and Digital Wellbeing for the Indian variants. The update was, however, based on Android 9 Pie.
Cut to now, it seems like the wait of LG V40 ThinQ users for the Android 10 update is now finally over, because as per user reports, one of the major US carrier networks, AT&T has rolled out the Android 10 update for the device. This has been confirmed by several users of the AT&T LG V40 ThinQ on Reddit.
Here is what the original post reads:
Well my phone just got 10 today, said it needed update. Thought it was just security update. Took less then 3 mins. When it booted up everything looked different, checked version Android 10. Not sure what changed and it was real laggy at first. It’s now snappy and fast. Now I need to find a new theme.

Our readers should note that, due to lack of any update screenshot, we cannot confirm, as of now, what all new features that this Android 10 update brings in for the LG V40 ThinQ.
However, we expect it to tag along with all the Android 10 core features like the new navigation gestures, enhanced privacy and security, smart reply, dark theme, location controls, etc.
We can also hope to see the updates showing up on other carrier networks as well, in the coming days. For that, we will keep you posted if any further developments happen in this regard.
