The Chinese OEM, Xiaomi is already up and running with the MIUI 12 open beta (China ROM) rollout, for more than a week now, and the open beta went underway on May 8.

It has been one of the talking points of all the smartphone users, especially the Xiaomi users, thanks to the tons of new features and enhancements that this new iteration of the MIUI, i.e. MIUI 12 brings on board for the devices.

Talking about features, the MIUI 12 will bring new animations, super wallpapers, AOD, enhanced privacy, optimized dark mode, and other system tweaks as well.

Redmi Note 7 was one of the devices that was also among the list that was eligible to pick up the MIUI 12 open beta update. But, guess what? One of the Xiaomi users has been successful in backporting the Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 update to the Redmi Note 6 Pro.

Well, the user has also shared a screenshot of the device information where we can clearly see a Redmi Note 6 Pro running the MIUI 12 beta ROM on Android 10. The security patch level stands at April 2020.

Although the image above looks legit, without any explanation on how the user achieved backporting Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 ROM on the Redmi Note 6 Pro, we would advise our users to take this information with a pinch of salt.

The Android 10 update for the Redmi Note 6 Pro has already been ruled out of the cards, but seeing the device running MIUI 12 on Android 10, will surely get the users excited.

In another report, the 2017 model of the Xiaomi, the Mi 6 was spotted running the developmental version of the MIUI 12. This information was posted by one of the users of the Mi 6 on Weibo.

Well the MIUI 12 open beta that started rolling out on May 8, went through some hiccups as due to some bug affecting the stability of the ROM, the update was delayed for some of the models. However, it seems like the update has reached the targeted users as you can see from the above post.

In the coming days, we will see more number of Xiaomi phones, picking up and running the MIUI 12 ROM, while the global users are expected to get their hands on the MIUI 12, from May 19, hopefully.
