Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 is the latest temptation that is being tested on various Redmi and Mi devices in China as the open beta. As Pocophpne F1 isn’t sold in the region, it didn’t make it to the official list of eligible devices. This ofcourse got the Poco F1 users curious.

Miui 12 has been hinted for Poco F1 device, however, users are suggested to wait for the global release for the official statement on the matter. Those impatient have already ported MIUI 12 from devices like Mi 8 to get to experience the latest on their units (See the glimpse in the video below).

While MIUI 12 is still far, infrequent monthly security patches on Poco F1 have been troubling users. It recently came to light that the frequency of the regular updates on the device may decrease considering its aging now.

The much-awaited Android 10 was the last update that was pushed to the Poco F1 devices along with the February security patch (11.0.6.0). It’s the last share of the major OS update that Poco F1 got as the phone came with Android 8.1 out of the box after which it received Pie and then Android 10 lately.

After Android 10, there has been complete silence for months. Cut to now, the OEM has released the April security update. Coming as v11.0.2.0.QEJRUXM, the update is currently hitting the devices in Russia and doesn’t bring any enhancements apart from the monthly patch (quite like expected).

Here’s what the short and crisp changelog states:

As the April OTA is out for Russia, other regions should also follow soon. So hang in tight. The download link is available for the Russian variants as of now, but we’ll be adding the same for the other regions too as and when the update goes live for more regions. So keep a tab on this space.
