Xiaomi teased the Global release date for its upcoming MIUI 12 skin a few hours back, and it’s going to make a show earlier than expected – May 19 is the date friends. Inline with that, the Mi Pilot test recruitment recently kick-started for Redmi K20/K20Pro devices in India and Mi 9/9T/9T Pro devices globally.

The MIUI 12 Closed Beta (China ROM) has been live for more than a week now, and the Open Beta was to start on May 08, i.e. today. But looks like there are some hiccups and instead of releasing the Open Beta for all eligible devices together, Xiaomi will do it in phases.

Few hours back, the official MIUI 12 Weibo handle did tease the MIUI 12 developer version going live for 32 Xiaomi devices one after the other.

But looks like there’s a catch. For some Xiaomi devices, the Open Beta update will go live today (as planned), while the rest will get it tomorrow, i.e. May 09. This information comes from a Weibo post that shared the information along with a screenshot.

Take a look at what the translation of the highlighted text reads (don’t mind the broken English here):

Due to solving the bug affecting stability, the public beta of some models development version is expected to be released on 5.9

While the user shared post from Weibo says the update will be coming on May 09, the MIUI 12 China Beta Rom (20.5.7) release post at the Xiaomi community also confirms the delay for some of the devices, but doesn’t specify the release date for them.

The names of the concerned devices can be seen below:

-Due to stability issue update is delayed for these devices: Redmi K20 Pro, Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi CC9 Pro, Redmi K30, Redmi K20, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro.
-Since Redmi Note 8, Mi CC9e adapts to Android 10 upgrade, Update is suspended.
-From June 20th 2020: MIUI China Beta Rom development will be stopped for these devices- Mi 6, Redmi Note 5, Mi 6X, Mi Note 3, Mi Mix 2.

This means that some Xiaomi users will have to wait a little longer to get experience the latest MIUI 12 Open Beta (China ROM) update. Let’s hope the delay is not long. For those interested, here’s the MIUI 12 China beta update changelog:
