[Updated] Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Android 10 update confirmed to arrive with latest MIUI 12

Xiaomi has a plethora of phones under its portfolio, making it harder for the OEM to complete the update cycle, well within the time frame.

Since, it pumps a truckload of smartphones, right from a budget phone to a flagship throughout the year, there are still several Xiaomi phones that are awaiting the Android 10 updates.

And the Redmi Note 8 is among those phones that are still waiting for its turn for getting served with the Android 10 update.

Back in March, we documented a post, were the Xiaomi Firmware Updater (an open-source community that provides downloadable firmware package files for all Xiaomi phones), claimed that the Redmi Note 8, along with Redmi 8 and 8A have gone under Android 10 beta testing, hinting that the update will be pushed for the device, soon.

Then later, it was reported that the next beta update after MIUI version 20.3.26, is expected to bring Android 10 for the Redmi Note 8. Well, the guessing work, kick-started and it was also rumored to bring MIUI 12 for the device.

And now, since the MIUI 12, custom UI has been officially launched by Xiaomi, at least in China, the users of the Redmi Note 8 are eager to know when the Android 10 will finally land on their units?

Well, it seems like we finally have some concrete words from the Xiaomi moderators itself about the Android 10 (MIUI 12) status for the device.

Going by responses of one of Xiaomi’s moderator, when asked, by one of the users:

are you saying it will be updated to A10 and then later MIUI 12 or there will be no updates before MIUI 12, which will be months from now…

To which the Xiaomi moderator responded:

No, for china rom its under internal testing along with Android 10 so update will include Android 10+ MIUI 12. Its subject to change

Now from the above conversation, what we can understand is that the China ROM for the Redmi Note 8 will bring Android 10 along with the MIUI 12.  So, it is confirmed that the MIUI 12 will arrive with the Android 10 update for the Redmi Note 8.

Although this was a pretty much-expected scenario for the Android update on Note 8, a confirmation from the moderator makes it even more clear.
