Motorola released the update to Android 10 for Moto G7 Plus units back in January 2020. At the time, we thought it would only be a matter of time before the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Power Android 10 update followed through, yet here we are.

In mid-March, Motorola France tweeted that Android 10 can be expected to be available for the Moto G7 within the next three months, which effectively meant in Q2 2020.

Not long after, we bumped into the Moto G7 Android 10 kernel sources, all but implying that the development of the software was ongoing. This also suggested that the update could likely be released sooner than later, but it has since been claimed that July could be the release date.

With at least two more months between now and July 2020, Motorola still has all the time in the world to prepare the G7’s Android 10 firmware. But for some reason, similar details related to the Moto G7 Power remain hard to come by.

Matter of fact, no one really knows when the Moto G7 Power Android 10 update can be expected, but until then, folks on Verizon Wireless have something to smile about – the latest April 2020 security update.

The Moto G7 Power is receiving an update to version PDOS29.114-134-12 based on Android 9 Pie. Besides bumping the security patch level from February to April, you also get bug fixes and system optimizations for improved performance.

The airborne update will likely take days before hitting all units, so be sure to remain calm as you wait for your turn, probably over the weekend or early next week.

Meanwhile, interested Moto G7 Power owners can get an early look into what Android 10 brings, albeit unofficially via LineageOS 17.1 ROM.
