Realme 3 Pro April update (C.05) adds DocVault ID, Smart Sidebar, optimizes audio, fixes alarms & more (Download link inside)

It is always refreshing and exciting to receive an update on your device. Android phone-makers have turned over a new leaf in the past couple of years when it comes to rolling out the regular patch and system updates. One such OEM is Realme.

Realme boasts of a rather impressive track record of rolling out features and security patch updates to many of its devices. Fun fact, most of Realme’s devices have already been updated to support VoWiFi in India. More on this here.

Continuing with the same trend, Realme is today rolling out the April 2020 Android security patch update to the Realme 3 Pro. This update packs a bunch of new goodies and features along with this bump in the Android security patch level.

Interestingly, this update brings different features to the same device in various regions. The international (Indian) and the European Union are getting slightly different updates as highlighted in the following two changelogs.

For the Indian version of the Realme 3 Pro, the April patch update brings the following changes;

Security:
● Android security patch: April, 2020
Application:
● Added DocVault ID feature(India)
Known issue fixed:
● Optimized audio quality for third-party apps
● Added arrow to the right of the list of recent location information requests in dark mode
● Fixed the issue that the prompt tone appears every time when the client plays music
● Fixed the issue that the alarm is automatically turned off after being cleared by the background task

The Realme 3 Pro in the European Union is also getting the April patch update and the following is the changelog;

Security:
● Android security patch: April, 2020
Known issue fixed:
● Optimized audio quality for third-party apps
● Added arrow to the right of the list of recent location information requests in dark mode

● Fixed the issue that the alarm is automatically turned off after being cleared by the background task
● Added Smart Sidebar in Europe region

DocVault ID feature will hit the Realme 3 Pro devices in India while the Smart Sidebar will now be available for EU variants of the same. Perhaps the takeaway from this update to the Realme 3 Pro is that with the April patch update, aside from the DocVault and Smart Sidebar, users should also look forward to an optimized audio experience and a bunch of fixes to issues like the alarms.

This is an OTA update and as such, should hit most eligible devices in the coming few weeks. However, you can also grab the firmware from the links below and manually flash the update onto your device.
