This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on April 28) follows:

Asus has been testing Android 10 on the ZenFone Max Pro M1 since late January, about three months now. For a device that had the “pure Android experience” tag as one of its strengths, frustrated device owners are finding it hard to fathom what is delaying the stable rollout of the OS.

Company personnel has been put to task by device owners with questions of when the OS can be expected not just for the Max Pro M1, but also for its successor, the Max Pro M2. The latter also got the beta months ago.

The Taiwanese company’s Mobile Division personnel Olivier Vongxay recently hammered a blow into the hopes of ZenFone Max Pro M1 and M2 owners with hints that the update to Android 10 isn’t coming anytime soon.

And now there is even more evidence, if you may, to suggest that Asus isn’t ready with the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 update. An alleged conversation with Asus support has the following statement supposedly from the devs:

Android 10 upgrade plan postponed to end of April 2020 due to test result did not achieve the improvement as expected. I request you to please wait till the next official information.

To further clarify the above statement that hints at an end-of-April release date for the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 update, Vongxay says the following in response to a tweet:

It’s true we never said it was ready. Our internal plan has been postponed to end of April, it doesn’t meen we will release a stable version by the end of April. We still need to fix some bugs.

As noted above, Asus still has some bugs to take care of before pushing the stable version of Android 10 to the Max Pro M1 and probably the Max Pro M2 too. Unfortunately, though, it seems Asus is struggling with fixing the bugs in question, something Vongxay has also acknowledged.

We’re just struggling to fix them.

To this point, no one knows when Asus will get around the stubborn bugs in the current ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 build and release the stable version. The best you can do is wait and hope that it doesn’t take any longer than it already has.

We will let you know when the OTA begins rolling out.
