Original story (April 28) follows:

At this point, it seems confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update is coming. Previous reports had left many owners of the device confused and in the dark about if and when the update would be released.

Today, it’s no longer a matter of if, but when. Several statements have been put forward by various Samsung personnel suggesting that the update is indeed in the works.

Prior to that, there had been claims that not only will the Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update be overlooked, but also the Galaxy S9 and S9+ too. This wasn’t received well, as expected, but the concerns have since been put to bed.

To further add weight to the matter, a moderator in the Samsung Korea community who is also in charge of the Galaxy Note software has revealed that the company is currently testing the One UI 2.1 firmware on the Note 9.

Note9 OneUI2.1 Test version has been prepared and started testing. We will do our utmost to make sure that the stable SW is prepared and distributed thanks to the waiting for customers’ full version of OneUI2.1 SW and the support of the customers.

The test firmware will take time to leave this phase and into the stable channel, but Samsung promises to deliver the update in other markets as soon as possible.

This will be made possible by the fact that the base firmware on the Korean unit is the same one that other regional variants receive, even if the build number may be a little different.

As per a user shared information shared regarding the development of One UI 2.1 on S9 and Note 9, late June release is what you can expect. Here’s what they said:

They’re still actively working on it for the S9/Note9. Exynos S9 seems to be stabilizing. All Note9s seems to still be under active development. Still no build for Canadian S9s but the US one seems to be stabilizing. Release late this month seems like a possibility for S9s (except for Canada), not so much for the Note9, although it’s still a possibility. Take this news with a pinch of salt.
