This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from April 27) follows:
Xiaomi’s rollout of Android 10 to its Android One-wielding Mi A3 has been one of the most chaotic roll-outs we have seen in a while. The update kept rolling out and getting canceled and rolled back several times. We have the coverage on the same here.
Many Mi A3 users remain baffled as to what exactly is causing Xiaomi to roll out half-baked updates time and time again to a device whose update, at least in theory, should be one of the easiest seeing as it is part of the Android One Program.
Well, while these users continue to wait for many of the bugs they have been facing to get fixed, Xiaomi is reportedly taking a much more reserved approach to its updated situation moving forward.
The company is once again, rolling out Android 10 to the Xiaomi Mi A3, only this time, they have chosen to test the waters before jumping head first. Well look at that! Xiaomi has finally learned a lesson!
With this roll-out, Xiaomi plans to roll out this update in phases and is urging users to be patient as the update will be available for their devices shortly.
“The update is being rolled out in phases and in case you have not received it, you will get it shortly. We appreciate your continued support and patience meanwhile.”
Further, the company plans to take a very small bite with this rollout, only pushing it out to 1% of Mi A3 users. At least this way, Xiaomi can better handle the damage control that might ensure, should this update prove as problematic as its previous 4 releases.
“This system update will be available to 1% of users (excluding India). ”
