Original story (published on March 27) follows:
Major smartphone vendors are stepping in to help alleviate the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic by offering an extended warranty of the products that were set to expire during these tough times.
The likes of OnePlus, Huawei, Honor, OPPO, and Realme have all announced that during this lockdown period, consumers whose product warranty was set to expire will get extensions, but of course, the packages on offer vary from company to company.
“As a good gesture of good faith, we have extended the warranty of all products to 30th June’2020 whose warranty is expiring from 21st March to 21st June’2020,” Honor said in a Twitter statement.
The Huawei sub-brand said this is a gesture of good faith and accountability that is meant to ensure its customer base enjoys seamless services and support during this period of uncertainty thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was perhaps to follow in the footsteps of the parent company, which is also offering a similar gesture.
